Jubilee Cross to St Mary’s

St John Bosco Youth handed over the Jubilee Year Cross and Book of Intentions to St Mary’s today. Procession from Mashiphisa Complex to St Mary’s Church where the handover took place. The Jubilee Year symbols were welcomed by the Parish Priest Fr Zweli Ngwenya and the official handover took place during the end of Mass.

Youth chairperson from Bosco handed over the Jubilee Cross to St Mary’s Parish youth chairperson, who received it on behalf of the parish. The Jubilee cross and the Intention book will stay at St Mary’s for two weeks and it will then go to Mater Dolorosa, people will have the opportunity to write down their intentions in the intention book. The Diocesan Jubilee year started on the 27th of January 2024 and it will end with the feast of Christ the King on 24th of November 2024.This 110 Diocesan Jubilee year is time for everyone to do a reflection on his or her life as the theme says,” Come Out”. In an article written for Diocesan Newsletter Siyatfunywa issue 14, the Bishop says: “Trusting in the power of his word that called Lazarus out of the tomb, we will ask Jesus to remove the stone that keeps us in our tombs and stops us from receiving the fullness of life Jesus has come to give us.”
