Taiwanese/SCCW Handwork Workshop

Taiwanese /SCCW Handwork Workshop: 21 July 2018 (Shosholoza centre, Manzini ).

About 30 SCCW members from the parishes attended a training on how to make sanitary pads and mosquito nets.

The training was conducted by a team of students and mentors from the Diocese of Taichung (Taiwan). The Diocese of Manzini hosts a team of International Volunteer students from a university in Taiwan once a year in the month of July, and this has been the second time members of SCCW have been invited for such a training.

This time around, the number of members who attended the workshop was higher than last year’s, and also to note is that there was an added skill taught (mosquito nets). Both skills will be shared in the parishes, and hopefully most women will produce these handmade items not only for themselves, but also for the needy communities.

Special thanks goes to the Diocese of Taichung for sharing these skills, their love and time, also to the Diocese of Manzini through the office of the Bishop for hosting them, to Sister Alexia for organising the training and finally to the members who came from the parishes.
