Speech by the Principal of Good Shepherd College Sotah Mahanya after commissioning by Bishop Jose Ponce de Leon I.M.C
Rt. Rev Bishop Jose Ponce de Leon I.M.C, Parish Priest Fr. Mabuza, Fr. Makama, CEO, GSH Management, Guest Speaker Mrs. Lwazi Dlamini-Mhlabane, College Academic and Nonacademic staff and Students.
I want to greet you all and I am very appreciative of the large congregation gathered here to honor our College.
This occasion gives me a sense of belonging and importance to the institution; I am delighted to take up the role of Principal at Good Shepherd College. I thank God Almighty for granting me this.
I thank the college staff; i.e. teaching and support staff for their warm reception, hard work, and promotion of the team spirit which is already shaping up.
To the teaching staff; I have realized that you are a wonderful team of talented nurse educators who work so hard to provide the best learning opportunities for our students.
I expect that we continue to work as a team in peace and harmony, to love our job and love one another as colleagues – this is a commandment of Jesus. You wouldn’t obviously want to hurt the one you love, nor say bad things about your loved ones; hence love for others is the key to peace and harmony.
I also expect us to maintain our Christian values and respect for one another.
I thank the management of Good Shepherd for their warm welcome, support and guidance. I also promise that I will continue to work with you as part of the management team.
I expect to get full support from Good Shepherd Management.
I also thank the Board of Governors and the Church for considering me as Principal of their Institution of tertiary education. Their valued continued support is very much appreciated.
Last but not least, to the students of GSC, I am proud to be your Principal: I am here to support you all in your learning activities. Treat others as you would wish to be treated and be the best that you can be. Above all, seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit in all you do. May the Lord God bless you all.
I thank you.
